Brain Attack

Hi,
A new trailer has been released for the Brain Attack sets has been released and although I haven't post on this blog since April I am still collecting Hero Factory and my new years resolution is to revive this blog. Anyway, these sets are growing on me and the first time I saw them I was not very happy with them, the heroes at least. Anyway, have a merry Christmas and a happy new year,

Mission 40: Velocity

Mission:
Velocity
Team:
Veteran Preston Stormer
Mission Manager:
Nathaniel Zib
Objective:
Find Speeda Demon, a villain who recently escaped from Hero Factory prison, and bring him back to Justice.
Stormer's Log:

After the initial shock of the Breakout all heroes had been sent out to capture the escaped villains.  Furno had taken down Jawblade, Breez had taken down Thornraxx and Evo had taken down Toxic Reapa. Those were just some of many victories but there were still villains out there like XT4, Splitface and Core Hunter who had been lucky to avoid capture by heroes.
Right now I was tracking down Speeda Demon who I was determined to not let get away. I had landed on Kollix 4 and was wasting no time in tracking him.
"Zib." I said into my communicator. "I'm picking up a contact nearby and it's moving fast. I assume it's Speeda Demon."
"He must be heading for the Navigation Beacon at the planet's North Pole." Zib replied. "You have to stop him. If he destroys it then Space Crafts nearby will be vulnerable to attack."
"And he can loot them all." I finished. "Speeda Demon's smart, I'll give him that."
I then went off to face down the fiend. I may not have a bike but my XL armour has special pistons in the legs allowing me to run fast than most other heroes. Ever since I received the upgrade to XL I had felt more powerful and stronger. I felt sorry for Rocka though. He couldn't keep the XL armour despite my protests. He had performed valiantly on Quatros and was worthy of it. However, Zib still wouldn't have it. Since Furno became a veteran I've changed a bit. I'm more softer on the rookies now and have gotten over my past with Von Ness.
I then ran into Speeda Demon and hit him with the flat of my blade. He fell off his bike and looked me dead in the eye.
"I was wondering when a hero would showed up." He said. "But I didn't think that I was worthy enough to gain the attention of Preston Stormer."
"You can stop right there Speeda Demon." I said. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way."
"You've already lost." He laughed. "I've taken down the defences and placed bombs all around the Navigation Beacon. All I have to do is press this button and the whole tower gets blown sky high."
"That's not going to happen." I said as I shot at him. The blast knocked him back and he dropped the detonator. He made an attempt to grab it but I knocked him aside and crushed it under my foot.
"NO!!!" He roared. "What have you done?"
"It's over Speeda Demon!" I said.
"I still have one explosive left." He replied while placing it on the ground and detonating it automatically. I was knock back by the explosion and faintly heard him driving away.
"Zib." I said into the communicator. "Speeda Demon got away but other than that it's mission complete."
I know I'll see Speeda Demon again and when I do I'll make him pay and bring him back to justice for his crimes.

Hero Factory: Breakout Episode Review

Hi,
Sorry that it's been so long since an update. I was going to abandon this blog and start a new one and I did start a new one but then saw it was a bit pointless. So I'm back on this blog and kind of took a break during March. But now onto the main topic of this post which is the episode review of Breakout which is an episode I loved. It was split into two episodes like Savage Planet was but I like this one better. I didn't completely understand why they changed Evo's character so much and even though I like this version better but it is just a bit confusing about why they did it. Anyway, the episode did have a big cliff hanger at the end and a lot more is revealed Rocka but I won't go into that and spoil it for you. Black Phantom was an okay  villain but I have to say I liked Voltix the best. His character was good and what I liked is that each villain had their own plans of destruction and weren't just rampaging around the galaxy creating pointless destruction. Voltix was creating a super weapon; Splitface was destroying a communications centres; Toxic Reapa was trying to build an army; Jawblade was collecting Oxidium to rust any hero in his way and Speeda Demon was going to crash ships into Kollix 4 and then loot them. Meanwhile Black Phantom was trying to destroy the Hero Factory. I'll give the episode rating of 10/10 but the change in Evo's character still bugs me. Please comment and follow,

Mission 39: Built to Last

Mission:
Built to Last
Team:
Veteran Duncan Bulk
Mission Manager:
Nathaniel Zib
Objective:
Find Core Hunter, a villain who recently escaped from Hero Factory prison, and bring him back to Justice.
Bulk's Log:

I was warned to be extremely careful on this mission. Core Hunter was a villain who knew nothing about the concept of "Mercy." He lived to rip out cores from every Hero. He was the only villain, other than Black Phantom, to remain in the Factory after the Breakout. This was in aims of collecting all the Hero cores possible. However, he eventually got away and left us with no trace of where he was going.
Now it was my job to track him down. I found him easily enough and readied my weapons. I'm not the type of hero who gives the villain a chance. I just hit them hard a fast. I launched two rockets and he was helpless to avoid them. I went down to greet him but when I got down there he was nowhere to be found.
"Do you think you could capture me that easily Hero?" His voice echoed but I couldn't see him. "You are sorely mistaken."
A blast then knocked me off my feet. "Core Hunter!" I called while getting up. If you wish to fight me then come out of the shadows." Seconds past without a reply. "I won't ask twice."
Another shot came from behind but I dodged it.
"Here I am." He said. "Just as you asked."
I charged at him and attempted to cuff the villain but he hit me aside. I shot at him but he dodged it and shot back. I was knocked to the floor by the explosion and he stood over me.
He prepared to remove my core while saying: "I'm afraid that this will hurt you a lot more than it will hurt me."
I grabbed his legs and twisted it. He let out a whelp of pain and punched him right in the face. He shot at me and I was knocked back.
He began to limp towards me but the pain seemed to be too much for him to bare.
"Oops." I said with a giggle. "Looks like I broke it."
"You'll be sorry you did!" He replied with rage in his voice. He shot the flour beneath me and I fell down. By the time I got back up he was gone.
"Coward." I muttered to myself as I walked back to my ship. Something told me that wasn't the last I had seen of him.

Mission 38: Born in Fire

Mission:
Born in Fire
Team:
Veteran Will Furno
Mission Manager:
Nathaniel Zib
Objective:
Find XT4, a villain who recently escaped from Hero Factory prison, and bring him back to justice.
Furno's Log:

The breakout had gone so fast that heroes had to face villains one-on-one to keep the galaxy safe. I'd already recaptured Jawblade and was now tasked with tracking down XT4. But for me it was out of the water and into the flames.
Mechna was XT4's home planet and a far cry from the tropical oceans I was in not so long ago. The planet itself was searing with heat and few could remain on this world long and XT4 was one of them. Those who live on this planet are specially built for the conditions and fortunately, so am I.
Many of those who witnessed my construction said that I was "Born of Fire", hence the name Furno.
I spotted XT4 in the distance and I readied my weapon. "Hey there." I shouted. "It's rude to run off without saying goodbye. Why don't you come calmly back to the Hero Factory with me now before anyone gets hurt."
The villain laughed. "Does anyone actually ever agree to do that?"
"I guess someone's going to get hurt." I said. "And that someone's going to be you."
XT4 opened fire on me but I dodged his laser beam. "Are you sure about that? It seems to me that your the one who's going to be hurt."
I shot at him and the explosion knocked him back. "Forget hurt!" He exploded. "Your going to dead!"
I shot at him again but he was ready this time. He dodged the blast and swung his saw at me. My armour was damaged but I was still in one piece. XT4 then drove his two blades into my shoulders and lifted me up until we were face-to-face. I was in overwhelming agony but I was not going to give up just yet.
"I'm going to dismantle you piece-by-piece." He ranted. "Circuit-by-circuit. When I'm finished, no-one will be able to recognise you."
I placed my plasma gun to his chest and he realised to late. I pulled the trigger and he flew back. I tried to follow it up with another shot but fell to the ground, the pain was to much for me and I knew I was going to end up on the scrapheap if I didn't think of something fast.
I looked around as the villain got up. I saw a Container filled with spare parts directly above my advisory. I shot at it and it fell on top of XT4. I waited 1, 2, 3 minutes and XT4 didn't get up. However, when I lifted the container up XT4 was under there.
I limped back towards my hero craft knowing that I had failed the mission and was lucky to escape from this one alive. Dividing the heroes was a bad idea and I know that now. United we are stand but divided we fall.

2012 Villain Review: Jawblade

Hi,
My brother got Jawblade when I got Black Phantom and now I'm here to review him. I'm afraid that there's no opinion from him this time. I have decided to remove the my brothers opinions from the review however if you would like the leave a comment bellow saying that you want it back then I will do so if it is wanted by enough people. But now onto the review...

The build is unique in that it is not humanoid and I have never built a Hero Factory set like it. The head was interesting to build but being a set of its size there isn't too much to it. I'll give it a 9/10

There didn't seem to be a lot of new pieces in this set. The only one is the head which is great. The fin works well and the textures are awesome. A recoloured piece is the original Furno's weapons from 2010. This time the flame on the end is in a solid red colour which is cool and fits Jawblade's colour scheme. There are a few other recolours too so this set is still good for those who buil MoCs. I'll give the new pieces a 6/10

The design is great and like the build it's very unique. The red and silver go well but the main part of the design is the shape of him. It is great how they modelled him after a shark but still gave him extra parts as well. The fin on the end was a great use of older pieces and the fact that the mouth can open and close is just a great touch. The design gets a 9/10

The playability was decent. The mouth feature was great and I think it is more fun for younger ones to play with than some other sets. The playability gets an 8/10

The overall model is great. Jawblade is defiantly an interesting set and I would recommend him. The colours flow well and I just have to give him a 9/10

I hope you liked my review of Jawblade and I also hope you'll comment bellow and follow the blog if you enjoy what I've posted here. Until the next time,

Mission 37: Face Off

Mission:
Face Off
Team:
Veteran Mark Surge
Mission Manager:
Nathaniel Zib
Objective:
Find Splitface, a villain who recently escaped from Hero Factory prison, and bring him back to justice.
Surge's log:

Our spies report that Splitface was heading towards the communications satellite in the Sigma Sigma System. And I was the one who had to go catch him and cuff him. Not that I'm complaining. I hadn't got any action since the Breakout happened. I'd either been in the infirmary or training. Both are boring. But now it's time for some real action.
I walked across one of the asteroids and could see the satellite in the distance. I powered up the short range teleporter placed on this space rock. They were used for easy travel between asteroids in the system. The teleporter activated and light  surrounded me in an instant they began to dim and I saw the satellite in front of me. I walked around, looking inside and behind crates.
"Nothing yet Zib." I said through the communicator. "Are you sure he's here."
"He should be somewhere nearby." Zib replied. "Do you see any workers."
"Negative." I said after another look round. "Not a soul in sight."
I heard a banging sound in side one of the containers. I walked closer and opened it. I readied my weapon just in case but it was unnecessary. A group of workers poured out.
"Cancel that Zib." I said through the communicator. "I've found the workers."
"A Hero!" One of the workers cheered. "We're saved!"
"Not yet." I replied. "Where's Splitface."
"He went to the control room." Another one said. "We don't know why."
"What's he up to?" I thought to myself.

I entered the control room but Splitface wasn't there. I took the opportunity to check the cameras to see if Splitface was still here. I didn't understand what he was up to. I found him except he wasn't on the station. He was on one of the asteroids. I headed for the teleporter. It was time to end this.

The light faded and I was on the same space rock that Splitface was.
"Ah." He said. "Come to watch from a safe distance have we?"
"Watch what?" I asked.
"Didn't you notice." He said. "I turned up the gravity controls to maximum. I a minute, the station will be crushed by the asteroids." One of them hit the satellite and damaged the dish. "It's starting."
"Then I'll end it." I said as I ran for the teleporter but it was too late. Splitface shot it with his blaster and rendered it useless.
"Your not going anywhere." He said.
"So be it." I said while readying my weapons. He was going down.
I charged at him and swung my blade at him. He blocked it with his claw and then pushed me back. He shot again but I dodged and used the explosion behind me to propel me forward and hit him full felt with my blade. A burst of electricity went through him as he fell back and impacted against the hard ground of this rock.
I looked behind me, more asteroids where hitting the satellite. This fight was a mere distraction. By the time it's over the satellite will be rouble. I ran and jumped from rock to rock. Propelling my self with my blasters shots.
I reached the satellite and ran for the control room. Everything shook with each impact. I got to the control room and turned down the gravity controls. There were no more impacts for a while. It was all clear.
However, Splitface still got away. As I climbed into my ship I looked at all the damage Splitface caused. Workers were all ready busy fixing it but I made a vow to find Splitface and bring him to justice for his crimes one day.

2012 Summer Sets Thoughts

Hi,
Due to the 2012 New York Toy Fair we have been getting pics of the summer 2012 sets and they look quite cool. There aren't many sets but for what we have there are some pretty good ones in there.

Stringer has been the one causing quite a fuss with his new blue colour scheme but I like it and it goes with the black well in my opinion. He is one of the smallest sets along with Nex and XT4. Nex is good and I like the mix of orange and white which we've seen before on him but I'm not completely for the gum-metal in there too. It looks good with white and it looks good with orange but when they're together it just doesn't work to well for me. I would prefer silver but I guess it's all right. XT4 seems to be getting a lot of hate but I for one quite like him. I think if he didn't have the light grey skeletal pieces then he'd be one of the best ones out there but with them he's decent enough.

Now for the medium ones: Bulk, Voltix and Core Hunter. Bulk is actually quite cool. The metallic colours work well together and the orange is a nice accent colour which isn't over used. He is very bulky which is what he should be and I can't really find much wrong with him. His shoulder weapon looks great and I can't wait to see what it can do story wise. Voltix is good but does seem to be a mix match of colours. I don't mind the reuse of Black Phantoms helmet as it works well on him and the attachments are different. I like the opportunity to get purple but I think without it this set would be really epic but I think with it it's held back a bit. Core Hunter is the last one and he is great. He has to be one of the best and his colour scheme is just beast. He's very bulked up and spiky too. An amazingly awesome figure is what I see with Core Hunter.

The two big ones of these are sure to be battling it out. We've got Stormer XL and Speeda Demon. Stormer XL is looking the part and seems to have a different styled build than Rocka XL, Black Pahntom and Fire Lord. He still has his original colours and helmet which is cool and the upper body looks especially bulky in design and I can't wait to see how he's built behind the shell of armour that covers him. Speeda Demon is awesome and I already have a story planed for him an it will span across eight missions so look out for that after Mission for the Pros is over.   But first onto the set of Speeda Demon. He is an average villain in size with four arms. He has a lime-green and gold colour scheme but the main attraction is his bike which is purple and black and has some yellow electricity coming off it which is great. He may be my favourite set and I can't wait to get him.

That was my thoughts on the 2012 summer sets and expect a new part of Mission for the Pros next and we are reaching the final part of this story but there is another one coming which I hope you will enjoy and it still links in with the breakout theme of season two. Please comment and follow,

Mission 36: Recruitment

Mission:
Recruitment
Team:
Veteran Natalie Breez
Mission Manager:
Nathaniel Zib
Objective:
Find Thornraxx, a villain who recently escaped from Hero Factory prison, and bring him back to justice.
Breez's Log:

When Zib called me in for a mission, I didn't think I'd be going on a bug hunt. I went to the asembly tower and got equipped with some rocked jets so that I'd be able to keep up with Thornraxx. I was flying solo on this one, literally. And with a whole planet of bugs to look over, it wasn't going to be easy.
Rumours where going around about Thornraxx trying to recruit and group of bugs to help aid him in an unknown plot. Hopefully a plot that will never have the chance to be carried out. Of course, that depended on me and my victory against Thornraxx.
I was exploring the lower hive. It wasn't a pleasant site at all. Gas leaked out of pipes and everything was slowly rusting away.
An incoming shot came from behind and I raised my energy shield just in time to block the blast. It was Thornraxx all right and her looked like he had seen better days.
"That's the last shot you'll be firing in a long time Thornraxx." I said to him. "Now why don't you come along quietly and save me the trouble."
"Afraid not Hero!" He buzzed back as he flew towards me. I shot at him but he dodged and then hit me with his stinger tail. A pain surged through my arm. He then went to hide in one of the piped but I activated my jets and pursued the villain.
I went through the pipe and came out in a room with almost no light and only the centre of the room was properly lit. I could hear Thornraxx's buzzing all around me but couldn't pin down where it was coming from.
"I'm afraid there's only one way out." I said to Thornraxx. "And I'm blocking it."
Just as I said it the entrance shut and left the room in pitch black.
"I'm not trapped Hero." He replied as the lights came on. "You are!"
I looked around and saw 3 recruits and Thornraxx himself. I had fallen into a trap and there was no easy way out of this. The rumours were true and Thornaxx had been recruiting. However, I still didn't know why.
"After I escaped prison I knew it was only a matter of time until Hero came." He buzzed. "So I decided why lay about when I can start recruiting. With a team of villains I should be more than safe, especially if their is only one hero."
"Don't under estimate me." I replied as I prepared myself for attack.
"I didn't." He buzzed back as his recruits attacked. I shot and took one down. I then kicked another in the face as it came towards me. The final one jumped at me but I raised my shield and the villain smacked right into it.
That left Thornraxx. He shot at me but I dodged it. However the shot hit the wall and gas began to leak in. I heard the exit open above me and caught a glimpse of the bugs escape through the gas. I flew up and grabbed his tail. I then slammed him into the wall and he fell unconscious. I then hulled him out of the pipe and cuffed him as soon as I could.
"I got him Zib." I said into the communicator. "Along with another few bugs."
"Copy that Breez. I'll send a team to pick them all up." Zib said back.
"Glad to hear it." I replied. "So got any other missions for me?"
"Report back to the Factory for a recharge, then we'll see." He said.
I looked up at the huge hive environment above me. But I'd be happy to get out of this lower area as soon as possible. 'Cause this part of town defiantly isn't my kind of town. It was another villain for the prison. But what bothered me was how many more are there still out there? And will we ever catch them all? Only time will tell.

2012 Villain Review: Black Phantom

Hi,
I've had Black Phantom for a while now just haven't got around to reviewing him and for that I am sorry. Nevertheless he is an awesome set and has a really good colour scheme and some nice pieces. Now onto the review...

The build is awesome and follows the feel of Fire Lord but has some other things mixed in to. It was probably simpler but it left less parts coming out all over the place which is good. There is not much else to say except that it's a 9/10

The new pieces are great. With a new year it's another round of new pieces including some old recolours. The spiked part on the end of his spear is actually two pieces connected together. Their is some new shoulder armour too which adds extra bulk to him. There is also the introduction of dark red skeletal parts in this set and some small extender pieces to which also add friction and is good because it replaces some of the old obstructing techniques we saw on Fire Lord and Rocka XL. The helmet is the final one and it is great. It has a bulky feel to it and a cool lower jaw on it along with the option to add attachments to the side. The new pieces are a sure fire rating of 10/10

The design is great and all the colours really flow well together. The black is consistent and mixes well with the dark red and small bit of green. There is also the re-introduction of the old head from 2010 which was thought to of been replaced in 2011. However, it's back and has a new dark green colour which looks really cool. He also comes with an Arachnix Drone which is a really cool little addition and is almost a character of its own. The design gets a rating of 9/10

Now for playability which normally isn't a lot but this time I feel like I actually want to pick this upan play with it. The Archnix Drone also adds some extra playability so I'll go higher than usual with a rating of 8/10

Overall this set is awesome and comes recommended by me. Usually the big sets come about last in my order of reviews but I got it first this time and am glad I did. It comes recommended by me an If you only have the money to get a couple of Hero Factory sets this year then you have to get this and maybe Rocka too. I love this set and have to give it a 10/10

So that was my review of Black Phantom and I hope that you enjoyed it. Next will probably be Jawblade's review so until then please comment and follow,

Mission 35: Hunter and Prey

Mission:
Hunter and Prey
Team:
Veteran Nathan Evo
Mission Manager:
Nathaniel Zib
Objective:
Find Toxic Reapa, a villain who recently escaped from Hero Factory prison, and bring him back to justice.
Evo's Log:

I admit that the choice for heroes to go on missions alone was shock to me. It was even more shocking to hear that I was going on a mission to Z'chaya so that I could re-capture Toxic Reapa. I'd read some of the files and from that I've gathered that Toxic Reapa's not a villain I want to meet.
I jumped out the Hero Craft and landed on the jungle terrain. "Zib." I said through the communicator. "I've arrived on Z'chaya."
"Copy that Evo." He replied. "Our scan shows that Toxic Reapa is somewhere in your vicinity."
"Glad to hear it." I said sarcastically.
"Evo, I have been assured that your armour should protect you from Toxic Reapa's attacks." He said.
"The word 'should' doesn't fill me with confidence." I replied. I then heard foot steps and quickly hid behind a tree. I looked around to see who it was.
"Evo." Zib said over the communicator. "What's happening?"
"Lets just say I've found your villain." I replied while readying my gun.
I turned and fired at him. I then went back for cover as he shot back. Toxic waste hit the tree I was behind and began eating its way through the wood.
"I was wondering when you'd show up Hero!" Toxic Reapa said.
"I'm not scared of you Toxic Reapa!" I replied. Holding my blaster tight.
"Oh but you are." He taunted. "Everyone is."
He fired another lot of toxic waste in my direction. I decided to stop hiding and charged guns blazing, what I do best, and caught him off balance. I then punched him in the head and threw him back. He hit a tree with a thump but he wasn't finished yet. He fired toxic waste which hit my tank-arm and I went to my knees.
"No-one does that to me and lives to see another day." He said in bitterness and ever present anger. He then came up to me and aimed his toxic waste blaster at my head. "I'll make short work of you!"
I then struck and pushed him away and fired my blaster to knock him an extra blow. I knew my usual methods would not work so I decided to fake my defeat. It worked and so did the armour, thankfully. Before he could come out his daze I cuffed him and began to walk back to the ship. I guess facing your fears is the best way to conquer them. Even if it could get you killed but it's best not to think about that part.

Mission 34: Rust to the Core

Mission:
Rust to the Core
Team:
Veteran Will Furno
Mission Manager:
Nathaniel Zib
Objective:
Find Jawblade, a villain who has recently escaped from Hero Factory Prison, and bring him back to justice.
Furno's Log:

I dived into the massive ocean bellow, hoping to find Jawblade somewhere in it. It wasn't an easy task. We knew that he had escaped to Scylla, his home planet, and we had narrowed it down to this sector of the ocean. Due to the mass amounts of villains that had escaped. Heroes had to break protocol and go in alone to catch them all before to much damage is caused.
I had been given the mission to capture Jawblade which didn't sit to well with me. Underwater wasn't my strong point but Zib assured me I'd do fine. I got outfitted with underwater gear and then went off to dive into the ocean.
Now I'm here in the depths of Scylla's ocean, searching for a villain who is in his own element. I the  found a ship wreak and thought it best to check it out. I looked around and saw lots of small canisters. I took a closer look at one to see what they where containing. Oxidium, a rusting agent.
"Zib!" I said through the communicator. "I think I've found where Jawblade is hiding. He's collecting Oxidium."
"Copy that Furno, stay in contact." He replied. "And be careful. If that Oxidium gets released then Jawblade will be the least of our problem."
"Got it." I replied. I then put the Oxidium canister down an questioned my next move. Oxidium was also highly explosive. If I could fire one single shot the whole ship wreak would be blown out of the water.
"Furno." A voice said from behind.
"Jawblade." I replied. He swam slowly above me, waiting for me to make the first move.
"So what's a hero like you doing in a place like this." He  mocked. "I thought your flame would have been put out by now."
"When duty calls. I've got no choice to follow." I said as I aimed my weapon.
I then fired but he dodged and dived towards me. I was pushed against a wall and I had to push him back to avoid a fate at his teeth. His roars echoed across the sea bed. I pushed him away and fired again.
That was when I realised my mistake. The shot hit one of the canisters and the whole ship wreak began to explode. I swam out as far as I could and the shock wave carried me across the ocean. I gained control of myself and swam back to find Jawblade.I was then ambushed by a raged shark.
"You destroyed my base! My Oxidium!" He roared. "Now it's my turn to destroy something of yours!"
"Not likely!" I said as I pushed him away. He charged again but this time I was ready. I pulled out my Hero-Cuffs and caught with them.
"NO!!!" He roared as he sank to the sea bed. I then picked him up and headed to the surface.
"Zib." I said through the communicator. "I've got a shark here who's just dying for a prison cell."
"Copy that Furno." He replied. "We've got one here that's waiting for him."
I reached the surface and hoisted him up to the ship. But there were still other villains out there ready to be caught. And there are always heroes ready to catch them.

2011 Villain Review: Witch Doctor

Hi,
Sorry it's been a while. I'm back with a review of a set I received for Christmas, Witch Doctor. A massive figure with no flaws. Onto the review...

The build was amazing. It was challenging and wasn't completely made up of the ball-joint system and features some classic technic for the frame of it. He really does come together well and it's a build full of fun. It's a definite 10/10

The new pieces are great. There are so many of then that I can count them all. The head is the main one and features two of then which is good for MoC's. I think his white spike pieces are new but I'm not 100% sure. Some others are just recolours and small technic pieces. I'll give the new pieces an 8/10

The design is awesome and probably the best I've seen in ages. The legs are awesome and look great. The arms are well articulated an are not blocked by the spikes at all. The staff is cool and looks the part. I'll give the design a 10/10

Playability is okay but you need Racka XL to go along with him. It's a 7/10

Overall the set is amazing and worth the money. It is defiantly one of the best Hero Factory sets ever and has an amazing build too. Overall rating for this one is a 10/10

That was my review of Witch Doctor and that's all for the 2011 sets but there are still more reviews to come and first up for 2012 is the big guy, Black Phantom. Next up will be the fourth mission of Series 2 which will be an underwater adventure. So please comment and follow,

Mission 33: Deception (3 of 3)

Mission:
Deception
Team:
Veterans Daniel Rocka, Will Furno, Nathan Evo and Preston Stormer
Mission Manager:
Nathaniel Zib
Objective:
Re-capture all the villains who have escaped Hero Factory Prison and put them back behind bars where they belong before they get off world.
Rocka's Log

It was a nightmare. Most of the villains had already escaped through the black hole of unknown origin and a lot of heroes had been sent to the medi-bots. One of them was Surge which still didn't make it any better. Being team mates we'd gained a respect for each other. He may be older and more experienced but he looks at me as an equal.
I then tried to contact Zib but their was no reply.
"Evo!" I shouted over the sounds of enemy fire. "Zib won't reply! What should we do!"
"Communication's are fine." Evo reported. "I can't understand what's wrong."
"Something must be going on up there." I thought aloud. "I'm going to go to the mission control room and see what's up."
"Good luck." Evo said.
"Thanks." I replied as I headed for lift. Some was telling me that this breakout wasn't the worst of our problems.

When I got to mission control the place was a wreak. Screens had been smashed and control pads were lying all over the place. I then saw Zib lying on the flour. I ran towards him to check that he was all right.
"Zib!" I said. "Zib what happened."
"Rocka..." Zib finally said. "You need to get out of here... get backup."
"Why." I asked. "Who did this."
"It was..." Zib gasped. "It was Black Phantom."
The name hit me hard. Before I could think the sound of hundreds of tiny footsteps were all around me. It was the sound of many Arachnix Drones, the robotic insects loyal to Black Phantom, the most dangerous of all villains. It was a trap that I had walked right into.
"I'm afraid your friends can't help you now." Black Phantom said from behind. I turned to see the hulking figure stomp towards me. "No-one can."
"You'd be surprised." I muttered.
"So you are Rocka." He said. "The one who defeated Witch Doctor and saved the dying planet. I've heard quite a bit about you in the detention facility. To bad your story has to end so soon."
"If this is the end then you should know I'll go down with a fight." I said as I readied my weapon.
"Indeed." He said softly and the his voice suddenly turned. With a roar he ordered his drones. "KILL HIM!!!"
I began shooting them but there were too many and I was over whelmed. I fell to the floor with the Arachnix on top ready for the kill.
"I'd love to stay!" Black Phantom said from somewhere beyond the drones. "But I've got a assembly tower to destroy!"
With that he left. I got ready for one last try and pushed all the drones off me. I got up but they came again. I began shooting then realised that I needed higher ground. I jumped up and propelled myself off one of the monitors onto one of the platforms. The drones started climbing up after me but I had the advantage and was able to shoot them all down. I then knew that I had to stop Black Phantom. I may be one loan hero but I've saved an entire planet from destruction before this shouldn't be too hard. All I need was better weaponry.

I went to the armoury and it was sitting right were I expected it. The Plasma Bow was just waiting to be taken and I wasn't going to keep it waiting any longer. I then noticed an Energy Shield and decided to bring it too. It was just a safety measure really. I'd seen Breez use one like it before and it seemed to work for her. I just had to hope it would work for me too. Now I was ready to take on Black Phantom.

"Now then!" Black Phantom roared just as I arrived. "Let the destruction begin."
"Not going to happen." I said.
"You!" He said after looking up at me with his heartless eyes. "I though I left you for scrap."
"And I thought you were behind bars. I guess this day has a lot of surprises."
"So..." He said. "Do you plan to take all of us on alone."
"Us?" I said confused. But then I looked down. Millions of Arachnix Drones roamed the walls of the tower bellow. It was way more than I had ever seen. As Black Phantom's laughter echoed the tower I began shooting at the the drones. I was way out numbered and way in over my head. One of the Drone had knocked me off my platform and I fell. I managed to grasp one of the assembly arms and balanced my self on top of it.
Just as I thought it was over the door right at the bottom of the tower opened and Furno and Evo walked out. All the drone suddenly headed for them and they fought back. I was going to get down and help them but Furno shouted up to me: "We got this! Go for Black Phantom!"
"With pleasure!" I replied and started to jump from assembly arm to assembly arm back up to him. He swung his mace at me but I was ready. I grabbed it and thought to use it against him but the discovered that it was way to heavy and dropped it right to the bottom. It landed on top of one of the drones giving a satisfying crunch.
I then turned my attention back to Black Phantom who still had one last trick up his sleeve. His sabre-strikers went right for me but I jumped away and onto another arm. I managed to shoot one of the arms above and it fell towards Black Phantom.
Instead of hitting him though, he grabbed it in mid fall and threw it right at me. I used my energy shield and blocked his attack. I lost my balance but managed to regain it. The impact wasn't good but it was better than it would have been I hadn't took the shield from the armoury.
I then jumped behind Black Phantom and grabbed some of the energy cables and began plugin them into his back. I was going to power him up so much that he would defuse. I kept plugin them in with him laughing in front.
"What are you doing?" He laughed. "Recharging me in hopes of earning my mercy?"
He then got bored of this and tried to shake me off with his sabre-strikers but I was done here. I jumped away and shouted down to Furno.
"Hit it!" I shouted and he did as I said. I turned on the power to the tower from the controls bellow and all the voltage went straight through Black Phantom. He screamed in agony until the pain finally stopped and steam was left pouring out of him. He was to weak to do any thing so I took the opportunity and cuffed him. The mission was complete at last.

The awards ceremony came quick. Stormer had arrived back from the mission an warded me with a medal of valour.
"Good job Rocka." He said with a tone of respect in his voice. Something I don't get often.
Zib then came to me after the awards ceremony. I looked at him and realised what I'd done wrong. "I know." I said. "I know. I shouldn't took it."
"Indeed you should not of done." He relied. "But given the circumstances and you saving my life as well as the whole Hero Factory. I'm going to let you keep it." He paused and then continued. "And the energy shield."
"Thanks Zib but I sitll feel that we failed." I said with a hint of shame in my voice. "A lot of the villains escaped and we still don't know how."
"It appears Black Phantom had the power to create black holes and we never knew about it." Zib replied.
"But why wait to use it until now?" I asked.
"I don't know." Zib admitted. "But I do know that its been disabled and hopefully a situation like this will never happen again."
"Agreed." I replied. "Now all that's left to do is hunt the escapes down and bring 'em back here. After all, the missions never over. We'll be keeping the galaxy safe forever."

2011 Hero Review: Rocka XL

Hi,
My brother got Rocka XL for Christmas and he is a fairly awesome character that has his own pros and cons. I'll get onto that in the review...

The build was different but had a familiar feel to the one of Fire Lords. The legs are virtually the same with some extras but is still basically the same. I'll give it a 9/10

The new pieces are great but available in other smaller sets. The head is the same as Rocka. He had the same Hero Badge that his smaller version had but this set comes with two instead so it still has 3.0 written on it and I would have preferred it to say XL but I don't mind it that much. I will give the new pieces a 8/10

The design is very cool and probably the best part. It is an improvement over Fire Lords which he is similar to in the build aspect of the set. His main colour of gold is a bit evened up by the gun metal silver. I don't like that too much as their were a lot gun metal on the smaller Rocka. One thing I really don't like is that a lot of pieces are often falling off and the articulation is sometimes limited by all the spikes that are coming off his back and shoulders. I'll give the design of Rocka XL a 9/10

The playability is all right but you need Witch Doctor to complete the battle. I have him by the way and will review him next but back to the playability which I'll give a 6/10

The overall rating for Rocka XL is not going to be as higher one as Scorpio as I feel that set was unique and this is just not. I do like it but the lack of gold is just a bit annoying and the spikes do get in the way. It is, however, a definite improvement of Fire Lord and I do really suggest you  get this set to compliment Witch Doctor if you have him because he really needs to pic on somebody his own size and Rocka would be that person. I do like this set but it does have more cons than I would like so I'll give it an overall rating of 9/10

That was my review of Rocka XL and I do still have Witch Doctor to come along with more of the new mission about the Breakout but first, because this is his set, here's my brothers opinion...

I like the armour on him and I also find the build cool. However I dislike the spikes on the back that I have no idea what they do. I'll agree with my brother on this and give him a 9/10

That was my brothers opinion on Rocka and I've got some good new about reviews to come. Witch Doctor is next followed by... Black Phantom. I have ordered him and am expecting him soon along with Jawblade for my brother so expect review of them soon and that's all from me so please comment and follow,

Mission 32: Breakout (2 of 3)

Mission:
Breakout
Team:
Veterans Will Furno, Mark Surge, Daniel Rocka, Natalie Breez and Nathan Evo
Mission Manager:
Nathaniel Zib
Objective:
Re-capture all the villains who have escaped Hero Factory prison and put them back behind bars where they belong before they can get off world.
Surge's Log:

This was one of the biggest things I'd seen in my entire life as a hero. A breakout was somethings heroes would have nightmares about and yet here one was. A load of villains busting out of their cells and attacking us heroes with no mercy. I was already in the thick of the action when Furno, Rocka and Evo showed up.
"You asked him for the Plasma Bow!" Furno shouted at Rocka.
"We'll... you know... under the circumstances I thought he would make an exception." Rocka replied innocently.
"Can we focus on the breakout please!" Evo said, cutting off their argument.
"Guys!'" I shouted. "Over here!"
They came towards me and we got behind some containment barrels that I'd been using as cover.
"It's good to see you Surge." Furno said while shooting at some of the villains. "But where's Breez?"
"Don't know." I replied. "I haven't seen her since we got separated by Xplode."
"Then let's stop hiding and show the enemy who's boss!" Rocka said confidently.
"I'm with you on that." I replied.
We ran out into the fray and I went straight for Thunder. We'd had our share of battles in the past when Von Nebula was at large and I couldn't stand the thought of letting all my hard work to get him in these cell's go to waste.
"You!!!" Thunder roared.
"So you recognise me." I joked. "I'm touched."
"After all those upgrades you're still the same hero I know and hate!" He replied in a cold tone.
I had had enough talking. I took a shot at him and he became off balance. I charged at him but he used his crusher claw to push me away. I then hit him with my electric blade and a load of volts pulsed through him. He tried to shoot me but I was to quick. I kicked him and he fell back into one of the cells behind him. I pushed the button and the laser bars went up.
"Consider yourself locked up." I said. "Again."
"NO!!!" He roared but I didn't care.
One villain down. About another thousand to go.

It seemed like it had been going on for ages. Some villains had already got off the planet through a Black Hole. I'm not to sure about the origins of it but I beat one off these villains had something to do with it. There were only a few villains who had the power to create black holes but their powers should have been damped here. It all wasn't adding up.
BOOM!!!
Xplode had fired his missiles at me and I was sent flying. I managed to get up regardless of the pain in my joints.
"I've waited along time to at last have a hero dead at my feet." He taunted.
"To bad your going to have to stay waiting!" I replied as I took a shot at him. He dodged it and charged at me. I was hit by his blade and I went down he stood over me ready to deliver the final blow when suddenly he colapsed with a pair of Hero-Cuffs on his arms. Behind him stood Breez and I had never been happier to see her.
"Just like old times huh?" Breez said with a smile.
"Pretty much." I replied as I tried to get up but failed.
"Your injured." She said as she helped me up.
"I'm fine." I lied.
"Don't give me that." She said. "Let me help you back to Zib. You need a medi-bot."
I was about to argue but decided against it. I contacted Zib instead. "Zib, I'm coming up." I said. "I'm going to need a medi-bot."
"Not you too." He said. "How's the situation down there?"
I looked at the Villain Storage Area. It was now nothing more than a battlefeild... and we were losing. "Bad." I said at last. "Very bad..."

2011 Villain Review: Scorpio

Hi,
It's been a while since a post so today I'm going to be reviewing Scorpio which my brother got for Christmas which also means an opinion. I also hope you enjoyed the new 'Mission for the Pro's' story that I posted and there are more on the way but first lets get onto the review...

The build is very unique and fun as well. It has some cool techniques and I don't think you'll find anything like it in any other set. I'll give the build an amazing 10/10

The new pieces are cool but not many are exclusive. The head is the same as Waspix but lime-green instead which may disappoint some. The pincers are new but also seen on Raw-Jaw and Furno. He features a cool spiky lime-green add-on piece which looks cool but can be found in other colours in other sets. There are some boy and skeletal pieces recoloured in red which is cool but still not exclusive. For new pieces its a 8/10

The design is one of the most awesome parts of the set. It defiantly has captured the look of a scorpion. The arms are cool and seem to fill in a missing space. The colour scheme is very consistent with silver thrown in there for the mechanical feel. The green and red work well together especially with black in-between. The great part is that there are no open parts which is usually complained about. It appears that con that we had before has been fixed up in these villain sets. Its going to be a design rating of 10/10

The playability is better with the projectile and more moving legs but still needs more characters for great play. Also, please tell me if you want the playability removed because its starting to get extremely predictable and consistent. However, while its here I'm going to give the set a playability rating of 7/10

Overall, I like this set a lot and it's better than I thought. It defiantly has the feel of a Scorpion. I would really recommend this set. It's an overall rating of 10/10

That was my review of Scorpio and now all that's left are Rocka XL and Witch Doctor. But this posts not over yet as we still have my brothers opinion on the set so lets get onto that...

I like that the build is very unique but I don't like his legs because they are not strong enough to hold him up but it's only a minor con. Overall, I'll give him a 9/10

That was my brothers opinion and look forward to more reviews coming up. Also, please tell me whether you want the playability kept or not as it is pointless in my eyes but I want to hear from you before the final decision is made but for now please comment and follow,

Mission 31: Lock Down (1 of 3)

Mission:
Lock Down
Team:
Veterans Daniel Rocka, Will Furno, Preston Stormer, Mark Surge, Natalie Breez, Nathan Evo and Julius Nex
Mission Manger:
Nathaniel Zib
Objective:
Re-capture all the villains who have escaped Hero Factory prison and put them back behind bars where they belong before they can get off world.
Rocka's Log:

"Now!!!" I shouted.
XT4 looked in my direction. He knew something was up. It had been a while since we'd attacked him and he must of been beginning to think that we'd retreated by now. My shout told him other wise and as he stared in my direction to determine the source of the sound Nex had been sneaking up behind him.
BOOM!!!
Nex had landed a perfect shot on the villain. Suddenly, XT4 swung round and pinned Nex to the floor. His saw spun only an inch away from Nex's face and if it weren't for his strength Nex would have been spare parts by now.
"This could've gone better." Evo said from the side of me.
"It's not over yet." I reminded him. "Now lets go show him who's boss."
We charged together and I used my energy blaster to shot XT4 away from Nex. Evo then chucked a barrel of explosives right at XT4 I then shot it in mid air and the explosion knocked the villain down. Nex then cuffed him and confiscated the saw just in case.
The world around them then flickered and faded away. XT4 then followed until the plain white room of a training sphere was left. The door open and Stormer walked though to give us another lecture. I thought it was hard being a rookie but life as a veteran isn't what I thought it was at all.
"Great teamwork there." He said. "You've come along way since you were first assembled. However you may have left Nex hanging there a little too long."
"Just as we planned." Evo joked.
"Says you?" Nex said back, seems he was unamused  until we all started laughing about it.
An alarm suddenly went went off, signalling a mission.
"Where needed." Stormer said. "Nex you're coming with me on this one."
"What about us?" I asked.
"Try some more training." He shouted back while running to the briefing. "You never know when you're going to need it."
"Well that's fair." I said to Evo.
"Oh well." He replied as if it were nothing. "Lets hit the weapons testing chamber. I've heard they've got a special one today."

It was Surge's turn to test today. Furno and Breez were already there when we arrived.
"What's Zib got for us today?" I asked them.
"An Energy Crossbow." Furno replied. "Built for pin point accuracy apparently."
"So they say." Breez added. "I'm not convinced it can beat those other models."
"Looks like were about to find out." Evo said as Surge walked up with the Crossbow in hand. The weapon certainly looked the part. The target appeared to be a tiny bullet shell. It was almost microscopic. I doubted Surge would be able to hit it but I was proved wrong a second later when the bow shot an arrow that travelled at lighting speed. The bullet had been designated into nothing.

I caught Zib after the test. He had just watched Stormer and Nex's take off when I found him.
"Zib!" I said to get his attention. "You've got to let me try out that new crossbow. Imagine all the villains I could clobber with that thing."
"I'm afraid that's out of the question." Zib replied firmly. "It's still in the testing stage. Plus putting a thing like that with a Hero like you is just asking for trouble."
"Aw come on." I said. "I couldn't do that much damage could I."
"I think you know the answer to that question." Zib replied.
"Just one mission." I begged.
"I'm sorry Rocka but no is my final answer." He said and with that the conversation was over.
Suddenly the alarm went off but this wasn't for a mission. The doors locked shut with a slam and there was only one thing this could mean. Lock down!
Furno ran up to us flanked by Evo.
"What is it." He asked.
"What ever it is it can't be good." I responded.
"Rocka's right." Zib confirmed with fear in his voice. "The situations on the detention level. There's been a breakout!"
"A break out now!" I said in shock. "We can't handle this it's a mission for the pro's."
"You are the pro's!" Zib encouraged. "Some of Hero Factory's finest! Now get down there and catch 'em and cuff 'em!"
