Mission 38: Born in Fire

Mission:
Born in Fire
Team:
Veteran Will Furno
Mission Manager:
Nathaniel Zib
Objective:
Find XT4, a villain who recently escaped from Hero Factory prison, and bring him back to justice.
Furno's Log:

The breakout had gone so fast that heroes had to face villains one-on-one to keep the galaxy safe. I'd already recaptured Jawblade and was now tasked with tracking down XT4. But for me it was out of the water and into the flames.
Mechna was XT4's home planet and a far cry from the tropical oceans I was in not so long ago. The planet itself was searing with heat and few could remain on this world long and XT4 was one of them. Those who live on this planet are specially built for the conditions and fortunately, so am I.
Many of those who witnessed my construction said that I was "Born of Fire", hence the name Furno.
I spotted XT4 in the distance and I readied my weapon. "Hey there." I shouted. "It's rude to run off without saying goodbye. Why don't you come calmly back to the Hero Factory with me now before anyone gets hurt."
The villain laughed. "Does anyone actually ever agree to do that?"
"I guess someone's going to get hurt." I said. "And that someone's going to be you."
XT4 opened fire on me but I dodged his laser beam. "Are you sure about that? It seems to me that your the one who's going to be hurt."
I shot at him and the explosion knocked him back. "Forget hurt!" He exploded. "Your going to dead!"
I shot at him again but he was ready this time. He dodged the blast and swung his saw at me. My armour was damaged but I was still in one piece. XT4 then drove his two blades into my shoulders and lifted me up until we were face-to-face. I was in overwhelming agony but I was not going to give up just yet.
"I'm going to dismantle you piece-by-piece." He ranted. "Circuit-by-circuit. When I'm finished, no-one will be able to recognise you."
I placed my plasma gun to his chest and he realised to late. I pulled the trigger and he flew back. I tried to follow it up with another shot but fell to the ground, the pain was to much for me and I knew I was going to end up on the scrapheap if I didn't think of something fast.
I looked around as the villain got up. I saw a Container filled with spare parts directly above my advisory. I shot at it and it fell on top of XT4. I waited 1, 2, 3 minutes and XT4 didn't get up. However, when I lifted the container up XT4 was under there.
I limped back towards my hero craft knowing that I had failed the mission and was lucky to escape from this one alive. Dividing the heroes was a bad idea and I know that now. United we are stand but divided we fall.

2012 Villain Review: Jawblade

Hi,
My brother got Jawblade when I got Black Phantom and now I'm here to review him. I'm afraid that there's no opinion from him this time. I have decided to remove the my brothers opinions from the review however if you would like the leave a comment bellow saying that you want it back then I will do so if it is wanted by enough people. But now onto the review...

The build is unique in that it is not humanoid and I have never built a Hero Factory set like it. The head was interesting to build but being a set of its size there isn't too much to it. I'll give it a 9/10

There didn't seem to be a lot of new pieces in this set. The only one is the head which is great. The fin works well and the textures are awesome. A recoloured piece is the original Furno's weapons from 2010. This time the flame on the end is in a solid red colour which is cool and fits Jawblade's colour scheme. There are a few other recolours too so this set is still good for those who buil MoCs. I'll give the new pieces a 6/10

The design is great and like the build it's very unique. The red and silver go well but the main part of the design is the shape of him. It is great how they modelled him after a shark but still gave him extra parts as well. The fin on the end was a great use of older pieces and the fact that the mouth can open and close is just a great touch. The design gets a 9/10

The playability was decent. The mouth feature was great and I think it is more fun for younger ones to play with than some other sets. The playability gets an 8/10

The overall model is great. Jawblade is defiantly an interesting set and I would recommend him. The colours flow well and I just have to give him a 9/10

I hope you liked my review of Jawblade and I also hope you'll comment bellow and follow the blog if you enjoy what I've posted here. Until the next time,

Mission 37: Face Off

Mission:
Face Off
Team:
Veteran Mark Surge
Mission Manager:
Nathaniel Zib
Objective:
Find Splitface, a villain who recently escaped from Hero Factory prison, and bring him back to justice.
Surge's log:

Our spies report that Splitface was heading towards the communications satellite in the Sigma Sigma System. And I was the one who had to go catch him and cuff him. Not that I'm complaining. I hadn't got any action since the Breakout happened. I'd either been in the infirmary or training. Both are boring. But now it's time for some real action.
I walked across one of the asteroids and could see the satellite in the distance. I powered up the short range teleporter placed on this space rock. They were used for easy travel between asteroids in the system. The teleporter activated and light  surrounded me in an instant they began to dim and I saw the satellite in front of me. I walked around, looking inside and behind crates.
"Nothing yet Zib." I said through the communicator. "Are you sure he's here."
"He should be somewhere nearby." Zib replied. "Do you see any workers."
"Negative." I said after another look round. "Not a soul in sight."
I heard a banging sound in side one of the containers. I walked closer and opened it. I readied my weapon just in case but it was unnecessary. A group of workers poured out.
"Cancel that Zib." I said through the communicator. "I've found the workers."
"A Hero!" One of the workers cheered. "We're saved!"
"Not yet." I replied. "Where's Splitface."
"He went to the control room." Another one said. "We don't know why."
"What's he up to?" I thought to myself.

I entered the control room but Splitface wasn't there. I took the opportunity to check the cameras to see if Splitface was still here. I didn't understand what he was up to. I found him except he wasn't on the station. He was on one of the asteroids. I headed for the teleporter. It was time to end this.

The light faded and I was on the same space rock that Splitface was.
"Ah." He said. "Come to watch from a safe distance have we?"
"Watch what?" I asked.
"Didn't you notice." He said. "I turned up the gravity controls to maximum. I a minute, the station will be crushed by the asteroids." One of them hit the satellite and damaged the dish. "It's starting."
"Then I'll end it." I said as I ran for the teleporter but it was too late. Splitface shot it with his blaster and rendered it useless.
"Your not going anywhere." He said.
"So be it." I said while readying my weapons. He was going down.
I charged at him and swung my blade at him. He blocked it with his claw and then pushed me back. He shot again but I dodged and used the explosion behind me to propel me forward and hit him full felt with my blade. A burst of electricity went through him as he fell back and impacted against the hard ground of this rock.
I looked behind me, more asteroids where hitting the satellite. This fight was a mere distraction. By the time it's over the satellite will be rouble. I ran and jumped from rock to rock. Propelling my self with my blasters shots.
I reached the satellite and ran for the control room. Everything shook with each impact. I got to the control room and turned down the gravity controls. There were no more impacts for a while. It was all clear.
However, Splitface still got away. As I climbed into my ship I looked at all the damage Splitface caused. Workers were all ready busy fixing it but I made a vow to find Splitface and bring him to justice for his crimes one day.

2012 Summer Sets Thoughts

Hi,
Due to the 2012 New York Toy Fair we have been getting pics of the summer 2012 sets and they look quite cool. There aren't many sets but for what we have there are some pretty good ones in there.

Stringer has been the one causing quite a fuss with his new blue colour scheme but I like it and it goes with the black well in my opinion. He is one of the smallest sets along with Nex and XT4. Nex is good and I like the mix of orange and white which we've seen before on him but I'm not completely for the gum-metal in there too. It looks good with white and it looks good with orange but when they're together it just doesn't work to well for me. I would prefer silver but I guess it's all right. XT4 seems to be getting a lot of hate but I for one quite like him. I think if he didn't have the light grey skeletal pieces then he'd be one of the best ones out there but with them he's decent enough.

Now for the medium ones: Bulk, Voltix and Core Hunter. Bulk is actually quite cool. The metallic colours work well together and the orange is a nice accent colour which isn't over used. He is very bulky which is what he should be and I can't really find much wrong with him. His shoulder weapon looks great and I can't wait to see what it can do story wise. Voltix is good but does seem to be a mix match of colours. I don't mind the reuse of Black Phantoms helmet as it works well on him and the attachments are different. I like the opportunity to get purple but I think without it this set would be really epic but I think with it it's held back a bit. Core Hunter is the last one and he is great. He has to be one of the best and his colour scheme is just beast. He's very bulked up and spiky too. An amazingly awesome figure is what I see with Core Hunter.

The two big ones of these are sure to be battling it out. We've got Stormer XL and Speeda Demon. Stormer XL is looking the part and seems to have a different styled build than Rocka XL, Black Pahntom and Fire Lord. He still has his original colours and helmet which is cool and the upper body looks especially bulky in design and I can't wait to see how he's built behind the shell of armour that covers him. Speeda Demon is awesome and I already have a story planed for him an it will span across eight missions so look out for that after Mission for the Pros is over.   But first onto the set of Speeda Demon. He is an average villain in size with four arms. He has a lime-green and gold colour scheme but the main attraction is his bike which is purple and black and has some yellow electricity coming off it which is great. He may be my favourite set and I can't wait to get him.

That was my thoughts on the 2012 summer sets and expect a new part of Mission for the Pros next and we are reaching the final part of this story but there is another one coming which I hope you will enjoy and it still links in with the breakout theme of season two. Please comment and follow,

Mission 36: Recruitment

Mission:
Recruitment
Team:
Veteran Natalie Breez
Mission Manager:
Nathaniel Zib
Objective:
Find Thornraxx, a villain who recently escaped from Hero Factory prison, and bring him back to justice.
Breez's Log:

When Zib called me in for a mission, I didn't think I'd be going on a bug hunt. I went to the asembly tower and got equipped with some rocked jets so that I'd be able to keep up with Thornraxx. I was flying solo on this one, literally. And with a whole planet of bugs to look over, it wasn't going to be easy.
Rumours where going around about Thornraxx trying to recruit and group of bugs to help aid him in an unknown plot. Hopefully a plot that will never have the chance to be carried out. Of course, that depended on me and my victory against Thornraxx.
I was exploring the lower hive. It wasn't a pleasant site at all. Gas leaked out of pipes and everything was slowly rusting away.
An incoming shot came from behind and I raised my energy shield just in time to block the blast. It was Thornraxx all right and her looked like he had seen better days.
"That's the last shot you'll be firing in a long time Thornraxx." I said to him. "Now why don't you come along quietly and save me the trouble."
"Afraid not Hero!" He buzzed back as he flew towards me. I shot at him but he dodged and then hit me with his stinger tail. A pain surged through my arm. He then went to hide in one of the piped but I activated my jets and pursued the villain.
I went through the pipe and came out in a room with almost no light and only the centre of the room was properly lit. I could hear Thornraxx's buzzing all around me but couldn't pin down where it was coming from.
"I'm afraid there's only one way out." I said to Thornraxx. "And I'm blocking it."
Just as I said it the entrance shut and left the room in pitch black.
"I'm not trapped Hero." He replied as the lights came on. "You are!"
I looked around and saw 3 recruits and Thornraxx himself. I had fallen into a trap and there was no easy way out of this. The rumours were true and Thornaxx had been recruiting. However, I still didn't know why.
"After I escaped prison I knew it was only a matter of time until Hero came." He buzzed. "So I decided why lay about when I can start recruiting. With a team of villains I should be more than safe, especially if their is only one hero."
"Don't under estimate me." I replied as I prepared myself for attack.
"I didn't." He buzzed back as his recruits attacked. I shot and took one down. I then kicked another in the face as it came towards me. The final one jumped at me but I raised my shield and the villain smacked right into it.
That left Thornraxx. He shot at me but I dodged it. However the shot hit the wall and gas began to leak in. I heard the exit open above me and caught a glimpse of the bugs escape through the gas. I flew up and grabbed his tail. I then slammed him into the wall and he fell unconscious. I then hulled him out of the pipe and cuffed him as soon as I could.
"I got him Zib." I said into the communicator. "Along with another few bugs."
"Copy that Breez. I'll send a team to pick them all up." Zib said back.
"Glad to hear it." I replied. "So got any other missions for me?"
"Report back to the Factory for a recharge, then we'll see." He said.
I looked up at the huge hive environment above me. But I'd be happy to get out of this lower area as soon as possible. 'Cause this part of town defiantly isn't my kind of town. It was another villain for the prison. But what bothered me was how many more are there still out there? And will we ever catch them all? Only time will tell.

2012 Villain Review: Black Phantom

Hi,
I've had Black Phantom for a while now just haven't got around to reviewing him and for that I am sorry. Nevertheless he is an awesome set and has a really good colour scheme and some nice pieces. Now onto the review...

The build is awesome and follows the feel of Fire Lord but has some other things mixed in to. It was probably simpler but it left less parts coming out all over the place which is good. There is not much else to say except that it's a 9/10

The new pieces are great. With a new year it's another round of new pieces including some old recolours. The spiked part on the end of his spear is actually two pieces connected together. Their is some new shoulder armour too which adds extra bulk to him. There is also the introduction of dark red skeletal parts in this set and some small extender pieces to which also add friction and is good because it replaces some of the old obstructing techniques we saw on Fire Lord and Rocka XL. The helmet is the final one and it is great. It has a bulky feel to it and a cool lower jaw on it along with the option to add attachments to the side. The new pieces are a sure fire rating of 10/10

The design is great and all the colours really flow well together. The black is consistent and mixes well with the dark red and small bit of green. There is also the re-introduction of the old head from 2010 which was thought to of been replaced in 2011. However, it's back and has a new dark green colour which looks really cool. He also comes with an Arachnix Drone which is a really cool little addition and is almost a character of its own. The design gets a rating of 9/10

Now for playability which normally isn't a lot but this time I feel like I actually want to pick this upan play with it. The Archnix Drone also adds some extra playability so I'll go higher than usual with a rating of 8/10

Overall this set is awesome and comes recommended by me. Usually the big sets come about last in my order of reviews but I got it first this time and am glad I did. It comes recommended by me an If you only have the money to get a couple of Hero Factory sets this year then you have to get this and maybe Rocka too. I love this set and have to give it a 10/10

So that was my review of Black Phantom and I hope that you enjoyed it. Next will probably be Jawblade's review so until then please comment and follow,

Mission 35: Hunter and Prey

Mission:
Hunter and Prey
Team:
Veteran Nathan Evo
Mission Manager:
Nathaniel Zib
Objective:
Find Toxic Reapa, a villain who recently escaped from Hero Factory prison, and bring him back to justice.
Evo's Log:

I admit that the choice for heroes to go on missions alone was shock to me. It was even more shocking to hear that I was going on a mission to Z'chaya so that I could re-capture Toxic Reapa. I'd read some of the files and from that I've gathered that Toxic Reapa's not a villain I want to meet.
I jumped out the Hero Craft and landed on the jungle terrain. "Zib." I said through the communicator. "I've arrived on Z'chaya."
"Copy that Evo." He replied. "Our scan shows that Toxic Reapa is somewhere in your vicinity."
"Glad to hear it." I said sarcastically.
"Evo, I have been assured that your armour should protect you from Toxic Reapa's attacks." He said.
"The word 'should' doesn't fill me with confidence." I replied. I then heard foot steps and quickly hid behind a tree. I looked around to see who it was.
"Evo." Zib said over the communicator. "What's happening?"
"Lets just say I've found your villain." I replied while readying my gun.
I turned and fired at him. I then went back for cover as he shot back. Toxic waste hit the tree I was behind and began eating its way through the wood.
"I was wondering when you'd show up Hero!" Toxic Reapa said.
"I'm not scared of you Toxic Reapa!" I replied. Holding my blaster tight.
"Oh but you are." He taunted. "Everyone is."
He fired another lot of toxic waste in my direction. I decided to stop hiding and charged guns blazing, what I do best, and caught him off balance. I then punched him in the head and threw him back. He hit a tree with a thump but he wasn't finished yet. He fired toxic waste which hit my tank-arm and I went to my knees.
"No-one does that to me and lives to see another day." He said in bitterness and ever present anger. He then came up to me and aimed his toxic waste blaster at my head. "I'll make short work of you!"
I then struck and pushed him away and fired my blaster to knock him an extra blow. I knew my usual methods would not work so I decided to fake my defeat. It worked and so did the armour, thankfully. Before he could come out his daze I cuffed him and began to walk back to the ship. I guess facing your fears is the best way to conquer them. Even if it could get you killed but it's best not to think about that part.
